Slow Motion

This is a picture of me and Stevie on my birthday. We had just spent the weekend in Rocford--where Stevie had a baby shower--and we were on our way back home to Hyde Park.

No, I was not driving with Steve in my lap! We pulled over in Shaumburg and parked in a remote area of the mall parking lot so that Steve could eat. We're noticing that we don't move from place to place quite as fast now that Stevie has come. The pace of our lives has definitely changed, but it is a welcome change.

As you can see Stevie is already trained to look at the camera, and he's only two weeks old!!

I just had to post this picture too. His frog hat is just a little too big for him and it causes his ears to fold over.

As you can see from his face, little Steve is very serious about getting a good sleep.

First Blog of Many

Steve Lucas Metz was born on Sunday, June 10th at 5:16 am at University of Chicago Hospital. He was 8 lbs. 8 oz. and 20 1/2 inches long at his birth, but he's already grown to 9 1/2 lbs and 22 1/2 inches.


He really likes hangin' out on Dad's shoulder like in this picture. He's a really good baby and we so happy to finally have him at home with us.


I will post a new picture of little Steve every week for your viewing enjoyment. (we think he's pretty easy on the eyes!)
